Hannukah, was swell! [insert socks joke here]. Christmas, great! [insert problematic family comment here]. And don’t get me started on Kwanzaa! [I actually celebrate it, but like no commentary needed]. But here lies the issue, the holidays are over. No more awkward family food fests, or cheesecake, or excitement from your parents. Yes, seeing all your best friends from home was great but you can hold your friends hair back at school [Here’s to you New Years’s]. You need a boost to get you through! [Download after the jump]
Let’s be honest, whether or not the summer was good to us, we are sort of ready for school. Ready for friends and the quad, and donating endless hours in the library. Well maybe not the last part but either way, whether you are back in dorms or in your off campus digs you will need some tunes to bump while the weather is still nice! Make sure to crank it, we’re sure everyone even your cranky RA and crotchety neighbors will jam.
There is something cathartic hearing Jimi Hendrix shread the Star Spangled Banner bleeds America. His redefinition of America is what inspired this playlist, some classic rock, some deep soul and some disco to shake it up. America is about fun, revolution, innovation. This playlist is a SLICE of that. Just the beginning!

And all shall fade The flowers of spring
Summertime has finally gotten into its groove. The days are long, the nights are stormy, and all shall know the wonder of Purple Summer. By this point in the summer, one of two things has happened: 1) your internship fling is finding its footing and you in the throws of midsummer nights romp. 2) the loose ends from your spring awakening are crumbling around you and you have the whole summer to reflect….
EITHER WAY: this playlist is for you. Put it on if you’re getting down, or getting over it! From slow jams by the Weeknd and Ellie Goulding, to ballads from James Blake and Bon Iver.
